Crafts, what does the word mean? You might think about something you learned as a child. For a significant number of adults, crafts are a pleasurable hobby.
It's a rare person that tells you that he or she is a crafts-man. Regardless, if one thinks about the professionals of crafts, dressmakers, carpenters and cobblers come to mind without seeking . Maybe, it takes longer to come up with a gunsmith, a potter, a glassblower, an ingrainer, a bookbinder and a leathermaker, but also those are still around.
In addition to the traditional professions, in the field of crafts some new professions have emerged. For example, an electronics assembler and a dentist needs to control his ot her hands as well as a goldsmith.
Regardless, the skills of hand are a resource close to extinction. Industrial producers have robbed craftsmen as well of customers as of bread.
It would be a great loss for the mankind if we were to lose the most advanced skills of hand. After all, it's our skillfull hands that differentiates us from animals. The skills of hand can only be stored in human beings.
